Pelvic Care Restores Quality of Life
The symptoms can be embarrassing, frustrating and confusing. Incontinence, vaginal or abdominal pain, discomfort and bowel control problems can have a severe affect on a person’s daily activity and self-image.
Abnormal pelvic function can result from a variety of medical conditions, as well as normal changes associated with aging and, in women, childbirth. Fortunately, we can help restore your quality of life. We specialize in pelvic care services to treat pelvic floor disorders and conditions such as incontinence, bowel control problems and pelvic organ prolapse (cystocele, rectocele and uterine prolaspe). Most can be successfully evaluated and treated by our physicians and medical team.
Pelvic pain is optimally treated with a combination of therapeutic interventions. Our trained physical therapists can provide soft tissue massage, moist heat, electrical stimulation and therapeutic/relaxation exercises needed to alleviate muscle spasms, trigger points and decreased mobility associated with pain. We can also provide behavioral/self-care strategies, postural re-education and physiological quieting techniques. These techniques can assist patients in learning to relax and ultimately decrease pelvic pain.
Our Fast-Track Colonoscopy Program offers colon cancer screening for healthy women and men over the age of 50, or individuals with a family history of colon cancer. The primary care physician will complete the appropriate history and physical form and our staff will do the rest. Our nurses will counsel the patient by phone about the preparation and any questions they may have concerning the procedure. A report will be forwarded to the referring physician and the referring physician will then follow-up with the patient.
The medical team at Ellis Pelvic Care also specializes in urology and colorectal medicine.
