Bequests
The official bequest language is: "I, [name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise, and bequeath to The Foundation for Ellis Medicine [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose or [for the purpose of _____________________]."
Please note:
If your client’s intention is to leave a portion of his/her estate to support hospital healthcare in Schenectady, his/her will must state that the bequest will go to The Foundation for Ellis Medicine. The Foundation raises funds, including those left through estate planning, for acute care in Schenectady at all three campuses - Ellis Hospital, Ellis Health Center, and Bellevue Woman's Center. Your client may choose to restrict his/her bequest to the Ellis Health Center, or to any of the lifesaving programs provided by Ellis Medicine.
